My stuffed cat

When I was four years old, my mum bought me a stuffed                                                     toy. My toy cat had a mixture of light purple and dark purple patches. Her glowing eyes lit up in the dark and showed the way to go like a torch.  Annie's eyes were round like a button and goggly. She has a thin mouth that looked like string. When she went to sleep she rolled up into a ball, then when it was morning, she unrolled back to normal.  She had a nose that looked like a bear. Her body was pink and her ears were dark purple like a plum. She had a body that was shaped like the number eight. Annie had fluffy ears that could make you feel cozy when you snuggled in for a cuddle.      

My toy Annie was a good friend.  She always kept me warm everytime I went to sleep.  She followed me everywhere. Then suddenly I saw Annie in my mum’s bag and I noticed that my brother had bought it along to our family picnic.  At the picnic she played with me and hid with me when we played hide and seek.

I looked after her and treated her well.  I gave her plastic food and water to make sure she was hydrated and not starving.  I gave Annie a soft potato with sauce, pasta and orange juice.

I still own Annie to this day.  I still play with her outside and we go on many adventures together.  However, I no longer need her to sleep with me and keep me safe and warm.  She looks similar to how she looked when I first got her because I was careful not to get her dirty.  She is a great friend and keeps me company.

I give my prediction 5/10, I predicted correctly that Lili was sick
and Ana helped her get her work done.

However, I got the manager part wrong as it doesn’t link to

There is a sea of grass in the field swaying delicately in
the wind.

Kids of all ages are shouting, talking and playing
different types of games like cheat, grounded and other
fun activities.

Excitement is everywhere and many children explore
the equipment area.

The metal ladders are painted hot red and the tunnel is
a shiny, bright yellow.

Down the steep hill is where the fake, coloured grass
lies, surrounded with black fences.

Lots of kids run around in the courts cheerfully, playing
sports.

RING! RING! RING!

Children scream as they race back inside.

This is where most people learn many things.

Every person has their ears switched on to listen to the
instructions.

The coral reef

The vibrant clown fish are swishing through the bright coral. The sea anemone is long like raw spaghetti in the ocean. The clown fishes eyes are dark like dark chocolate. The coral is like wobbly jelly jiggling in the glistening turquoise water. The second colour of the rainbow is orange, the same colour of the sea anemone and clown fishes. The clown fishes have white stripes like a zebra. They are small and cute looking.

The clown fishes are hunting for food sneakily, trying to find a tasty snack before a predator eats them. Clown fishes eat other fishes leftovers on the sea anemone. They eat to satisfy their tiny appetites.

The sea waves splash on the shore. The water is so clear you can see the fishes swimming and the sun is making a waterfall of light into the ocean. The sea is as beautiful as a sunset.

Summer is the Best Season

“Aahhh.. don’t you just love summer?”

“It's such a nice, warm season to play and do activities”

Do you know why else I like summer?

“Well…. I’m here to tell you why I like summer and why I don't
like winter.  Warm vs freezing… the choice is easy for me.

Warmer weather is better because in winter it is cold not like
summer. You can play is the playground because it's summer
and it's not raining. But in winter you will play inside games.
It's a nice day to play in summer, let’s play on the monkey bars.
You can also go to the swimming pools to play or do swimming
lessons like me. You can do a BBQ to celebrate the holidays.

Our large school holiday break happens over Summer.

What fun things can we do in the holidays?

Well, Summer holidays are fun because you don't have to do
any work, you can play anything, like cards or any games you
like or go shopping or anything else that's not work. I like the
holidays the most because you don't have to do any work at all.
 You can sleep in, lie on the couch, watch TV and not have to
worry about being late for class. The celebrations that you
have in the summer are Christmas and New year which are
exciting events to celebrate with family and friends. It's better
being on holiday than going to school.  However, most of
Winter is `spent at school and we only have shorter holidays
between terms. Winters at school mean inside lunchtimes due
to rain. In winter days in side lunch, cancelled sports and when
you do cross country and you get really muddy. At school you
have to put your hands up to speak and sit down, you have to
listen to your teacher and follow so many rules. Whereas, in the
holidays you can ride your bike, go to the park, go swimming
and do anything else that's fun.

Third Main idea and evidence

My third and final idea is that in Summer you can wear lighter
clothes.  The weather is warmer and you no longer need to rug
up and protect yourself from the cold.  I think wearing lighter
clothes is better because they are easier to move in and it is
faster to get changed and unchanged.  These items of clothes
are very annoying and hard to move around in. It takes forever
to get ready in the morning and parents are constantly needing
to do more washing to keep up with the amount of clothes
you’re wearing.  Summer clothes include t-shirts, hats, shorts
and skirts, these items of clothing are fantastic to dress in.

Conclusion

To Sum up, Summer is the best season.  It is warm and sunny.
You can do many fun and exciting things when the weather is
fine and glorious.  To quote, Kellie Elmore, an American
author, "I love how summer just wraps its arms around you like
a warm blanket."  So…. when Summer comes…..Get outside
and enjoy it!

My money note

I chose to put Taylor Swift on my money note. I have drawn
her because she is famous and she is a great singer. I
have included a security feature so people know it's real,
it is called a serial number.  The security number that i did
was 18240219. You can buy food or toys or anything you
want with money. I drew a coin that has a microphone and
Taylor Swift and there is a tukutuku panel on the side of the
money note. The tukutuku panel is a pattern that is black,
peach and white.  The amount that I did was 200 dollars
because no other real money notes are for this amount.
The holographic window is a security feature as well.
It has an owl inside of the holographic window it also had
some leaves in it. The colour of the background is red like
the hundred dollar note.

WALT:Describe Sleep

 We are going to describe what happens when people sleep.

Body’s Physical Changes

 In your sleep a lot of things are happening to you.The things that are happening to you is:heart is beating more slowly,your mouth stops making saliva and your eyes might be closed but your ears are still working.

How Much Sleep

 Adults need about 7 or 8 hours sleep at the night. Babies sleep for about 16 hours a day to sleep. Older people sleep less hours than usual. Babies need more sleep than adults because babies, children,teens need significantly need more sleep than adults to support their rapid mental and physical development children often act as if their not tired, Resisting bedtime and becoming hyper as the evening goes on. All this can happen because the child is overtired. 

People Can Be Seen Doing In Their Sleep 

Some people turn over in their sleep and bang their head on the pillow. Some people suck their thumbs ,talk,pull faces or grind their teeth. Some people pedal their legs as if there riding a bike and some people even walk in their sleep. If this happens to you , there's no need to worry -sleep - walking usually stop when your older.

There are lots of different types of snakes around the
world. My favourite snake is the king cobra because I
like how it looks but i don't like it biting people cause it
really hurts. I haven't got bit yet but i know it hurts and
I haven’t saw a real king cobra before. The king cobra
is a very dangerous snake to play with and it also
have sharp teeth. Imagine what if you were a king
cobra? I would find food and water to eat and drink.
That's how i would survive in the world. King cobra
usually rather eat people instead of animals. King
cobras has very strong jaws and there body.

How To Make Coconut Cream

How to make coconut cream

Coconuts are a key ingredient in Samoan cooking. Every part of the coconut is used. You can eat the
flesh raw or use it for cooking, you can drink the juice, the shell makes a handy cup or, together with
the husks, you can fuel a cooking fire. The most widely used product from the coconut is coconut
cream, so let me describe how the cream is traditionally made.  

You will need

Coconut / popo

Knife

Scraper

Coconut husk

Bowl

Method

1.  Make sure that you be very careful and check that you have all the equipment and take a knife
turn it around and crack it until it's open.

2. Keep on doing it until it cracks open you can drink and do not hit it too hard the coconut  juice you
can also retain some for latter get the scrapper to scrap the flesh of and put your left hand on first if
your right handed and turn it to scrap it do the opposite if your left handed.

3. Once you finished both of the coconut get the coconut husk- (tauaga) and put the coconut in it also
add some coconut juice in it then squeeze it very hard keep on doing it until there is coconut cream
running out.

4. Once your finished you can make more or use the coconut shell to put in the fire or use the coconut
to feed pigs and chickens you can also eat the coconut as well. You now that you did a good job making
it.

Dear Mrs Ritchie

I am writing to express my opinion about why year 4’s should also go to camp.

You may believe that year 4 students are too immature to go to camp. However  I
disagree because activities such as kayaking and Mountain biking teach us important
skills we need now. Kayaking helps teach life saving in the vast ocean. Mountain biking
is also very important because it will teach those that can’t how to ride a bike.

Another good activity is Raft building, which teaches about teamwork and leadership.
You will also learn how to tie knots and build things. Archery is also something that can
teach you how to use your skills to hit a target. Archery is like a bow but you have to
aim and hit the target. It's like throwing a ball to hit the target but easier. Archery is all
about your aim because its like hunting for animals but hitting the target.

The reasons above are why year 4’s should go to camp like year 6 because you can
learn new skills and you can't be with your mum and dad forever because you have to
do things yourself when you grow up for yourself and camp would be a good way to star
t to be self reliant.

States of Matter

There are three states of Matter solid,liquid and gas. They are the three states of Matter. You can find
them everywhere like your house and any were.

Solids

Solid is different to liquid and gases because solid is hard not like liquid or gases. For example a chair
is a solid because its hard and it can not change shape only if it was like a block of ice it will change into
a liquid.

Liquid

Liquid is something like water and can change shape. It can change shape because they take the shape
of the containers. For example water, milk,coke, juice is a liquid because it can change shape and
move. Liquid doesn't need anyone to move it because it can move on its own.

Gas

There are different gases in the world for example smoke is one of the gas as well. The gas can be
invisible and there are more other gases that you might know about it like Carbon Dioxide. Carbon
Dioxide is a different to oxygen because Carbon Dioxide is a different gas.

This is the three states of matter and molecules are close together in solid so it can't move. The liquid
molecules is spread out and moving and the gas molecules are far away.
